  • This account can be opened by eligible investors in local currency and foreign currency namely USD,EURO,GBP,JPY.
  • The accounts are maintained in the form of savings and Fixed deposits.
  • Eligible investors = Citizens of foreign currency states , non resident Sri Lankans , Companies incorporated outside Sri Lanka.
  • Accounts can be held jointly with two or more eligible investors.
  • Minimum amount required to open the account is USD 10,000/- or equivalent in any other designated foreign currency.
  • SFIDA accounts are exempted from all taxes.
  • The proceeds (capital and interest) can be reconverted into foreign currency and repatriated to any destination of depositor’s choice.
