Prof. Dewasiri, a full Professor of Finance (on merit) at the Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, has long been recognized for his rare blend of academic excellence and corporate expertise. With over 17 years of senior industry experience prior to entering academia, he continues to bring strategic insight, governance acumen, and innovation to the financial services sector.

During his tenure, Prof. Dewasiri has: Strengthened corporate governance frameworks and enhanced stakeholder trust, Championed financial inclusion initiatives, expanding access to responsible financial solutions, Advanced research-driven practices, introducing triangulation approaches to finance in 2019, Published over 70 scholarly articles in leading Scopus-indexed journals, contributing to global financial knowledge.

His academic and professional credentials include a PhD in Finance from the University of Colombo, an MSc in Applied Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, and a BA (Hons) in Business from Wrexham Glyndŵr University, UK. He is also a Fellow Chartered Manager (FCMI CMgr) of the Chartered Institute of Management, UK, and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. In recognition of his contributions, Emerald Publishing, UK appointed him as the first Brand Ambassador for South Asia.
